My Favorite Things. . .2019 February, Vol. 2

As I edit with every new Season of the Year,
On Crooked Creek I'm trying desperately not to store any home decor,
except those 'extra' items used during the holidays.

By keeping and using those home decor pieces that I adore,
the second in my post of My Favorite Things is my collection
of white vintage pottery, urns and vases.

Since I'm a Traditionalist,
we'll view my white vintage collection Season~by~Season.

Winter:

I love how the white makes a striking contrast 
against the red and gold Traditional Waverly Fruit Motif Wallpaper.

Yet shows a subtle blending
in the vignette with the Sherwin~ Williams Sandbar Paint background.

Switching from On Crooked Creek's Dining Room. . .

to the Entertainment Center. . .

to the Guest Room,
you can see how I use My Favorite Things within On Crooked Creek's rooms.

Spring:

Once the refreshing of Spring scents the air,
I am so~o~o in the mood for a change of decorating accessories
to fill On Crooked Creek's Entertainment Center,
tabletop vignettes and tablescapes.

Following the lead from one I admire, Nell Hill's Blog,
I grouped many of the white vintage pottery and vases from my collection
atop my four drawer vintage dresser in On Crooked Creek's Living Room.

Tablescaping is a love and a skill I perfected
during my 3 year employment at our local Antique / Gift Shoppe.

I thoroughly enjoy gathering all the elements that go into creating
and designing a pleasing~to~the~eye centerpiece and place settings.

Holidays are a perfect time for adding touches of whimsy
to On Crooked Creek's Entertainment Center as seen here
with the addition of moss bunnies at Easter!

The white urns are one of my most versatile containers
when creating floral arrangements. 

From simple faux fern bushes. . .

to an elegant monochromatic  centerpiece. . .

 or the simplistic addition of a bird's nest.

Summer:

"Mr. Ed" is an amazing 'Grill Sergeant' !

So~o~o. . .
while he is out~of~doors grilling away,
I created a tablescape worthy of his delicious main course menu choice.

While perusing Antique Shops locally, during Road Trips and vacations,

occasionally I have the good fortune to find the same 

or similar vintage white pottery and vase in a variety of sizes.

This larger vintage white pottery / vase has an exact match
in a smaller size within On Crooked Creek's Entertainment Center.

Autumn:

As we embark upon my favorite Season of the Year,
you will find that this is a time for my white urns and vases to enhance
my autumnal decor accessories within On Crooked Creek's designs.

I adore the texture of the maiden hair grasses within my vintage white vase
in this Autumnal vignette in On Crooked Creek's Living Room!

These Dollar Tree glass knobby pumpkins 
take on an 'air of elegance' when placed atop my classic white urns.

In years past,
I have stored My Favorite Things on the lower level living areas
as seen here, in my primitive cabinet. . . 

only bringing them to the upper level living areas for holidays.

Now, that the editing has created sufficient space
within On Crooked Creek's upper level living areas,
My Favorite Things will remain where they can be seen 
and enjoyed season~to~season!
