Swapping Out The Cabinets: Part II. . .

The saga of  changes in On Crooked Creektt's lower level
Family Room continues with swapping out the cabinets.

This time,
it's the Red Chicken Wire Cabinet!

It has been moved from where you descend the stairs
to the South wall of On Crooked Creektt's Family Room.

I began with my straw Angel to watch over all our Family Room Celebrations.

In keeping with her texture,
I added two of my willow baskets which also, fill in the space atop the cabinet.

I chose "Mr. Ed's hunting and trout fishing hobby accessories
to decorate the interior of this cabinet.

Keeping in mind that we'll soon be celebrating Autumn Birthdays,
Thanksgiving and Christmas, I began with my vintage pine cone dinnerware.

Next,
I added my stag head pewter ice bucket and a hand drawn art print
along with miniature stag beer mugs with porcelain and pewter lids.

Although, our family doesn't eat an entire meal in the Family Room,
we do enjoy snacking and dessert during birthdays and Holiday Celebrations!

I've kept the Trout dinnerware close at hand for festive occasions
and am quite pleased with the lightness it gives to this deep red hued cabinet.

Good will finds at a dollar each,
I love the embedded acorn on the thumb hold of each of these hefty glass mugs.

The lamp at the back of the chicken wire cabinet adds a touch of ambient lighting.

I deemed "Mr. Ed" Trout Fisherman Of The Year
several years ago during our Annual Trout Fishing Trip to Bennett Spring!

This 1920's Horrocks Mohawk Fly Reel is one of "Mr. Ed's" great "finds"
during our Antique Shopping Road Trips in Lebanon, Missouri.

I'm always on the look~out for practical,
yet unusual, pieces to complement "Mr. Ed's" love of Trout Fishing
while we're on those shopping excursions.

However,
the above framed print was found at our local Roadhouse Antiques & Gifts
owned and operated by my dear friend, Rodgie Hartness.

"Mr. Ed" gazing upon the spot
where he normally fishes at the rolling water of the damn,
known as Renegade Fishing.

"Mr. Ed" has his gaze "fixed"
upon a Rainbow Trout.

These are the hands I love!

These three photos of "Mr. Ed" during some evening fishing
in the Spring are my all~time favorites.

This petite rusty cone is another vacation find.
I added a scrap of Battenburg Lace and some "cast~off" pieces
of red berries, greenery and a rusty jingle bell for interest at the cabinet doors.

This adorable squirrel atop the acorn is a subtle reminder
that I need to fill these green pottery jars with some faux pine boughs.

He is a precious "gift" to us from Lynne at Lynne's Gifts From The Heart!

Now that I'm finished swapping out the cabinets
in On Crooked Creektt's lower level Family Room,
I'm busily researching my numerous resources for this year's Christmas decor.

Before. . .
at the base of the stairs.

                  . . . and after!
on the South wall of the Family Room.

Adding a touch of Christmas Present is next on my "To Do" List!

Until next time. . .

I like it better where you have moved it--its more in the limelight, its so pretty and interesting to look at. You've done well, as always, with arranging things for a nice display inside. And yes I like the doors open.

Hi again, Pat! Oh, thank you for popping in to see me and I loved your comment about your little mother and aunt having the same milk glass dish. You know a friend asked me if I had gotten some of my milk glass with green stamps! She said her little mother had a collection and got them all by saving her green stamps. I didn't know you could get milk glass. I helped my little mother paste lots of green stamps into those little books!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I love the red hutch, Pat! Pieces of furniture that can be moved around and changed out are the best! I'll admit that I'm not very good about that but you and other bloggers inspire me. :)

Happy Thoughts of Home.
