Christmas Countertops. . .

The underlying theme of Christmas On Crooked Creektt
for 2014 is "keep it simple"!

On Crooked Creektt's 1970's Galley Style Kitchen
received the least amount of Christmas decor ever for this Holiday Season.

Keeping true to the creamy ivory, tan and white color palette
allows me to showcase my Gingerbread collection.
The Galley Style Kitchen On Crooked Creektt is a 'perfect' space
to feature lots of Traditional red accents!

Instead of stacking my Gingerbread plates on a plate stand,
I tucked them neatly inside the miniature hanging plate rack.

Hung at the end of our 1970's Galley Style Kitchen,
they are visible from the Dining Room table.

Nestled near the microwave,
my Gingerbread Lamp with its soft glow makes a wonderful 'night light'!

Miniature cinnamon bun candles,
surrounded by red berry candle rings sit atop the cupcake stands.

I adore flour sack dish towels!
Can you imagine my joy when I found these Gingerbread tea towels years ago?

Entering the 1970's Galley Style Kitchen,
these are the Christmas counter tops you first observe.

I am fortunate to have two Gingerbread houses, but this is my favorite!!!
I l o v e its soft color palette!

The gingerbread children are like 'bobble heads".
If you touch them, they shake back~and~forth!

I switched the vintage ironstone platter for my Gingerbread platter.
I purchased these festive 'paper' straws from Target's birthday selection.
The red and white stripes are  just festive enough for Christmas!

You may remember,
I had recently done a re~arrange of my Coffee Station (here).
I love the touch of whimsy my Gingerbread platter brings to this area!

Of all my Gingerbread Collectibles,
this is the one that describes my Christmas Past best.

For many, many years,
"Mr. Ed", our sons and I use to bake dozens of cookies
and deliver them to the servicemen and women in the barracks on Christmas Eve.

So~o~o. . .
this year, "Mr. Ed" and I baked breads and cupcakes
for our Annual Church Bale $ale!

Over sized S'Mores Cupcakes fill these Santa Mugs. . .

and my signature Cranberry Orange Bread!

Through the years,
I've gently retired all the vintage metal cookie cutters.

However,
I did place a few Gingerbread cookie cutters within a vintage batter bowl
and placed them atop the microwave.

Countertops have been cleared for the making of  memories
with Christmas On Crooked Creektt!

Until next time. . .

Oh Pat, your gingerbread collection is sooo cute! I love the memories you have attached to them. Your contributions to the church bake sale are terrific! Love the mugs and how you topped them, and that orange-cranberry bread makes my mouth literally water just thinking about it. Having your plates shown in that holder accomplishes a couple things: they're easily seen and enjoyed, and they won't get scuffed being stacked. I love that gingerbread house too - very similar to one I have in a vignette in my laundry room at Christmastime, which I love seeing as I do my chores.
You've done a great job with this year's decorating and working things around existing decor! Merry Christmas!
