First Senior Trip. . .

A day trip,
just 5 miles North to the Botanica Gardens,
was as refreshing to my soul
as the Autumnal Showers were to the Prairie.

A catered lunch was provided prior to a Floral Presentation
where Floanna Crowley, Master Gardener
and Norman Warminski, Retired Sedgwick County Extension Agent
shared designs for Decorating for the Holidays.

On the Menu:

Savory Seasonal Green Salad
Sliced Roast Beef
Mashed Potatoes
with Brown Gravy
Dinner Rolls
Iced Tea
Coffee
Variety of Cookies

Following lunch,
the Autumnal Showers subsided
long enough for "Mr. Ed" and I to enjoy a walk among the Gardens.

I, especially, enjoyed the many fountains of Botanica
as they reminded me of those from my early childhood
while residing in the Kansas City area.

Sunshine dancing around this rustic bench
captured "Mr. Ed's" shadow nearby!

Being the Mother of sons,
I am always smitten with 'little boy' statutes. . .

So as not to be late to attend the presentation,
the title of  Time Keeper was given "Mr. Ed".

Always seeking the unique in design,
I was completely enthralled with this wall of vegetation!!!

The wall wrapped completely around
continuing with more plantings on the back side, as well.

And what to my wondering eyes did appear???
Herbs of various varieties!!!

Did I hear anyone say. . .
"Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Basil"???

Before retiring to our seats for the presentation,
we viewed several floral entries of Seasonal Floral Designs.

Intrigued by this Pumpkin design,
I was thrilled "Mr. Ed" located two seats nearby!

Although the floral designs appear simple enough to reproduce,
Norman Warminski did emphasize to practice
and experiment until you achieve the desired effect.

Floanna Crowley worked throughout
using two or three florals to complete simplistic elegant centerpieces!

I found this entries design so exquisite for Christmas decor!

Perhaps I'll attempt something similar
for Christmas On Crooked Creektt using my own color palette.

The Autumnal Showers followed us home,
but once we arrived at our destination,
the sun came out and we were met with many vibrant hues of the Season!

Until next time. . .

How beautiful that wall is...full of lovely plants and flowers. I've never seen anything quite like it.
Glad you had a good time....and I pray your strength will come back soon. It seems to take awhile longer for us olden folks to bounce back but we always do. :))
hugs and kisses, bj
