we have been so~o~o fortunate to receive occasional rain showers
throughout the Spring and into our Summer!

| Heirloom ladder "gifted" from my Dad. |
Normally,
we have already seen weeks of triple digit weather
and our lush green lawns are turning crispy and brown.

Since completing our renewal 2015's Project #6 (here)
"Mr. Ed" and I have done a little Deckin' Out The Deck!
Just as soon as the renewed decking was dry,
I began "deckin'" out the wrought iron etagere.
One shelf at a time,
I added the birdhouses made by my Dad
during recovery from his quintuple by~pass surgery 20 years ago.
Adding "Mr. Ed's" handmade wooden boxes
and a galvanized Garden Caddy
keeps a tranquil cohesive theme within the etagere.
"Mr. Ed" freshened the birdhouses
earlier this Spring with a subtle color palette.
Next,
came the placement of the furnishings.
Both "Mr. Ed" and I have enjoyed having the 'park benches'
and the wrought iron furnace grate coffee table up on the deck.
I adore the PoP of color that the Lantana gives to the corner of the deck!
Keeping the deck cushions on our 'park benches'
has been quite a struggle with all the rains.
Most of the time, these cushions are piled high
at the foot of the Guest Room bed.
The soft gray 'park bench' cushions were purchased at LOWE'S.
The larger soft buttery yellow, gray and creamy ivory stripe pillows
were purchased at TJ MAXX.
The creamy ivory with soft buttery yellow and gray bird print was
found in a clearance isle at our local Kohl's.
The blue and white ticking stripe 'feather' filled pillow
was purchased for $2.99 at our local Antique Mall!
In the corner of the renewed deck,
I returned the three tiered planter.
This late into the Season, with limited variety for 'full sun',
"Mr. Ed" planted the Made In Italy brown clay pots
with a candy stripe (portulaca) rose moss.
By placing a $1.00 Garage $ale tray atop a plant stand,
we now have quiet little place for morning coffee.
(Those orange cords that plug in behind the plant stand
are for the rope lights that encompass the deck
with ambient lighting at night.)
A comfortable spot for "Mr. Ed" and I
to enjoy morning coffee or evening cup o' tea.
