Grey Dey Thursdey. . .Vol. III

Shades of gray
have taken our Guest Room On Crooked Creektt.
From ho~hum Dockside Blue
to amazing  Agreeable Gray,
our Guest Room now dons a streamlined decor.

A serene and tranquil decor ensure a restful night's stay
amidst the shades of gray.

One of the newest features,
the over sized oval mirror was the last purchase for this room.

Although I wish it were wood,
the gold resin frame has been well disguised with stain.
I adore the way the dark finish mimics the Dark Walnut
trim throughout the Guest Room.

The mirror has been hung low upon the wall to fit my 5 foot nothing stature.

The entire room inspiration came from this concrete plaque
purchased locally at Roadhouse Antiques and Gifts.

The color palette for our Guest Room is one of subdued pastel hues
in shades of creamy ivory, linen, gray, silver and white.

The only accent color is that of vintage Haeger Pottery in Aqua .

Simplistic botanical prints in silver frames add interest to the bedside area.

Beginning with newly purchased polished nickel finished drapery rod
and linen Roman Shades, the soft gray drapery panels
blend harmoniously with the linens and the wall color.

This petite room allows a place for my heirloom Secretary Desk.
I correspond to several Pen Pals regularly from this space.

A simplistic and streamlined vignette

keeps a cohesive tranquil atmosphere within the Guest Room.

The pull down desktop will allow guests a place to work
from their lap top during visits, as well.

Within the pigeon hole interior are stylish corresponding necessities.

Most of the Guest Room has been depersonalized. . .
except for one wall which contains "Mr. Ed's" Father's Christening Gown
and my Mother's Baby Dress framed within shadow boxes for preservation.

The wooden plaques depict all of the grandchildren of both sides of our families.
These are my precious nieces and nephews and our two sons.

In "Mr. Ed's" family are our two sons,
while my family was blessed with seven, two of which are our sons.
Each gold character is engraved with the grandchild's given name.
The plaques are held to the wall with Vintage Aqua Drapery Pulls.

The hue of  Sherwin~Williams Agreeable Gray
is a subtle shade of gray.
A serene accent color palette, On Crooked Creektt,
surrounded with a tranquil atmosphere perfect for a good night's sleep.

               " To sleep,
                                    perchance to Dream". . .
Until next time. . .

On Crooked Creektt will be joining

Grey Dey Thursdey!

It is my wish that you, too,
will experience the serene and tranquil inspirations
that only the hue of gray can bring into your life.

It looks very nice, Pat. It is similar colors to the guest room I worked on here, and I too found a bit of aqua for a "pop." any guest will feel quite at home there!

Love the gray walls and the way your blog loads up on the sides with the scroll work.

It is so warm and welcoming and wonderful!
I have a bed just like that, it is in my pile for the white show but now I want to keep it!
