Autumnal Entry Hall. . .

Staying true to our scheduled maintenance for 2014. . .
"Mr. Ed" and I recently had new ceramic tile installed
in On Crooked Creektt's Entry Hall.

I adore the 6" square Italian made Roman Stone Noce(here) pattern
as it gives the needed light to our windowless Entry Hall.

So~o~o. . .
now that it is much lighter and brighter,
I kept  the same amazing Autumnal hues for the Entry Hall decor
that I used in On Crooked Creekt's Dining Room built~in china cabinet. . .

Sage green,
           yellow and gold,
                         burnt orange and red
                                           combined with khaki and cream
                                                       grounded with brown and black.

Keeping the color palette and the design elements similar
from the top of the sconce throughout the cascading florals
and the flowing scarf, I created a ripple effect
continuing the length of the console table.

I call this type of design statement a Waterfall Effect.

The inspiration for the Entry Hall vignette
came from this adorable grey bird figurine.

First,
I changed the soft sage green Basil scented candles in the sconces
to burnt orange Pumpkin Spice candles
and encircled each candle with faux Autumnal leaves.

Next,
I arranged the greenery bush of Autumnal hues into a cement urn.
I added a few sprigs of faux bittersweet for added height and texture.
Using larger maple leaves of the same shades
gives more visual interest to the arrangement.

Upon observation,
I noticed a void beneath the greenery bush at the base of the cement urn.

While some would leave this area for the eye to rest,
the voided space was something that I was not satisfied to leave alone.

I added two cream and khaki pumpkins of varying heights and shapes
at the base of the cement urn to fill the void.

Before adding pumpkins. . .

After adding pumpkins.

I tucked in a few faux Oak leaves beneath the pumpkins
to accentuate the dark mahogany wood tone of the console table.

One staple item on the Entry Hall's console table
is our vintage counter check holder.
We use this accessory daily to post the mornings outgoing mail.

The vivid hues of Autumn within On Crooked Creektt's Entry Hall
fill our home with the indoor warmth of the Season.

An Autumnal Entry Hall filled with amazing Autumnal hues.

Pat, your entry hall is just beautiful. The colors of Fall just work so wonderfully with your color scheme. The pumpkins are perfect beneath your arrangement; and the sconces are lovely. You are ushering in the season beautifully!

Beautiful job Pat. The florals are done to perfection and I like the scarf. They can add just the right touch when needed! The pumpkin adds just enough and looks perfect there.

Like the little birdies tucked in the leaves. Great mail holder, I swear I need one for incoming...of course most of it is junk mail but it seems to take over my library table by the end of the week.
Your entry looks very inviting and ready for fall!

Wow, you are already way into fall! Such a pretty display. I myself am not quite ready (can't let go) but when I am, I will look to this for inspiration. The ceramic pumpkins are quite gorgeous... :-)
