Grey Dey Thursdey. . .Vol.II

More and more,
I find the shade of gray finding its way into my own home decor.

With the anticipation of Springs arrival On Crooked Creektt,
I recently freshened the vignette within our Entry Hall.

By leaving the gray petite folding screen and my Santos,
I had two key accessories to set the backdrop for a gray inspired design.

To soften the hard surface of our Traditional console table,
I lightly draped the top with an ecru linen runner.

While making a decision on a particular shade of gray
for my Guest Room make~over this past Autumn,
I read that using shades of gray with green
will reflect the natural light within the room.

Therefore,
I added faux greenery to aid in reflecting artificial lighting
now present in the dark, narrow Entry Hall.
In the near future, as the Entry Door is able to be left open,
the natural light will illuminate this space.

I filled a gray concrete urn with faux ivy
and added faux green seed pods for height and texture.

When it comes to decorating, I am truly, a symmetrical designer.
Keeping subtle shades of gray atop the Entry Hall console,
I chose my Crown Bird Cage to enhance the color palette
and to create balance on both ends of this vignette.

Just as I completed freshening the Entry Hall On Crooked Creektt,
the sun streaming through the patio doors off the Dining Room
sent radiant natural lighting within the area, illuminating this vignette.

And while it may, once again, be Grey Dey Thursdey. . .
you'll not find any gray skies On Crooked Creektt!

Until next time. . .

On Crooked Creektt will be joining

Michelle @ Petite Michelle Louise for

 Grey Dey Thursdey!

It is my wish that you, too,
will experience the serene and tranquil inspirations
that only the hue of gray can bring into your life.

Grey seems to be a great compliment to many colors. Your entryway table looks great- I want that bird cage crown! I have had my eyes out for some kind of crown but that's a cuter idea and offers more decorating fun. I brought my Santo's Doll out to see if I can incorporate her into my room again. I had only put her out at Christmas time before but she definitely could be used year round. Yours is so cute with the petite folding screen behind it.

I do love gray. I used it in our guest room too and there are two different shades of gray in our main rooms downstairs. It looks different in different lighting! And I used "different" a lot in those two sentences! I do like your little screen in your front hall with the angel in front. Very sweet! You have a good eye, Pat!

Hi Pat!
I love to see how my friends are embracing my new favorite color! I also love how you use the crown as a cloche...I do the same thing!

I haven't embraced the color gray as yet...I do like it but just haven't acquired any thing in the color.
I really love the crown...:)

Hi Pat! Your gray looks lovely in your vignette. You've thought of everything and it balances out so well. Your arrangement in the urn is so nice - love those seed pods. Thanks for popping in to see me and have a nice weekend.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia:)
