Star Of Bethlehem . . .

Star of Bethlehem. . .
the name of the flora that fills my mercury silver vase.

The items that adorn On Crooked Creektt's Entry Hall
are fairly new to our design accessories.

However,
my Santos Angel has been in the same place since her arrival.

I adore that she greets our family and guests as they arrived
and keeps watch over our coming in~and going out!

I kept the Entry Hall in muted shades of soft gray, green and white
to accent the new hue of Sherwin~Williams Sandbar paint.

A single strand of rustic wire and white glittering stars
surround the heirloom print above the Entry Hall console table.

After placing a silver and gold embroidered table runner atop the console table,
I embellished my grey washed wrought iron candlesticks with beaded white rings.

* * * Tip * * *
After I removed the timer faux wax candles,
I place two beaded white candle rings atop the candlestick.

Then,
I simply arranged the pillar candle atop the beaded candle ring.

I adore the festive vibe it gives to the candlesticks!

Continuing the festive theme in the Entry Hall,
I tied chartreuse hued French Silk ribbon to three silver and white miniature glass ornaments and placed them within the base of my Santos.

My favorite word for Christmas is Noel!

So~o~o. . .
imagine my joy when I found this Noel ornament at our new Hobby Lobby!

I knew I just had to work this new treasure into my floral arrangement.

* * * Tip * * *
I began by bending a gnarly grey twig garland
around the upper left~hand side of my French mirror.

Next,
I attached the silver and gold bird's nest to the twig garland
and tied the ornament with a gray hued French Silk ribbon in the garland, as well.

Then,
I embellished the gnarly garland with some silk and velvet glitter leaves,
a sprig of silver leaves and attached a silver bird atop the nest.

In keeping a monochromatic color scheme within the Entry Hall,
I added vintage Cantique de Noel sheet music
to a recently purchased piano sheet music stand.

This distressed piano sheet music holder,
is the 'perfect' fit for behind our front door.

The Star of Bethlehem flora,
truly an inspiration for On Crooked Creektt's Entry Hall Christmas decor.

Autumn's Golden Glory. . .

Autumn's Golden Glory is featured throughout this vignette.

I chose to place my gold sparrow statutes within this vignette.
The sunlight steaming into On Crooked Creektt's Living Room
highlights their golden glow.

Golden hued miniature chrysanthemums
are neatly tucked within the ivy to accentuate the same hue as the statues.

A miniature rustic crown birdcage, nestled into the vine,
brings a complimentary contrast to this vignette.

Quail eggs,
unattended within the larger rustic Crown, rest atop books of similar hues.

Green, gold and rust ivy leaves
feature these amazing hues of Autumn's Golden Glorious color palette.

This four drawer chest was my gift from our son for Mother's Day
many years ago.

I had seen it in an Antique Shop and fell head~over~heels in love with it!
Our son purchased it, then had it freighted to our home.

Is it any wonder why
this is one of my favorite spaces to create one~of~a~kind vignettes?

Autumn's Golden Glory is about to give way
to the onset of another Season of decorating in On Crooked Creektt's Living Room.

Take A Chance. . .

Many times change is difficult.
I adore pristine laundered and pressed table linens.
I adore Traditionally staged place settings.

And, while I do mix and match dinnerware and stemware,
I adore setting down to dine with everything matchy~matchy.

However,
every once in a while, I step outside my comfort zone
and take a chance on change.

I adore these square cobalt blue dessert / salad plates
gifted to me from a very special bride and groom
for designing and decorating their reception tables.

Their contemporary style totally takes me out of my Traditional comfort zone,
but still, they appeal to my creative side.

On a rainy and dreary day On Crooked Creektt,
I set a tablescape for four using my Food Network ironstone.

Atop my taupe linen tablecloth,
I placed newly purchased round white washed wooden woven place mats.
I chose to place a beige ruffled linen napkin folded beneath the dinner plate.

European wooden flatware,
combined with our everyday clear bubble glass stemware,
is joined by glass square coasters and our matching coffee mugs.

I've added a soup bowl at the top of our place setting
for tonight's menu choice.

Candlelight seemed appropriate,
as this time of year when we've turned our clocks back,
darkness falls more rapidly upon us.

Stepping, once again, outside my comfort zone,
I chose a yardage of leaf embossed ribbon placed on a diagonal for the runner.

As the centerpiece,
I've filled my glass hurricane with faux acorns,
a cranberry hued berry candle ring and a leaf embossed pillar candle.

A sprinkling of faux leaves and acorn stems surround the base of the hurricane.

On either side of the hurricane,
I've place a bronze mercury silver votive to elongate the centerpiece.
The votive resembles a lotus blossom and holds a rust hued scented votive.

The warmth that the candlelight radiates on this tablescape
provides the perfect ambiance for a rainy and dreary evening soup supper.

Steaming bowls of homemade potato soup
are accompanied by warmed croissants lather with butter and honey.

On Crooked Creektt,
being totally out of my Traditional comfort zone,
I took a chance.
