Winter Woodland. . .

Christmas On Crooked Creektt
will be celebrated in the lower level Family Room
with a Winter Woodland theme!

A "sneak peek" during a recent post,
only gave you a glimpse into the newly arranged lower level Family Room.

You're welcome to descend the stairs and have a look around.

This is the scene from the Family Room conversational area.

Candles in the firebox give a candle glow ambiance
and add warmth throughout the Family Room.

As you can see,
by all the packages under the Christmas Tree,
our adult children have been very good this year!

I decorated our Lodge Tree
shortly after returning home from our Annual Trout Fishing Trip in October.
Choosing a shiny copper, deep emerald green, rustic gold, mocha brown
with natural elements gives classic elegance to our Family Room.

Faux copper eucalyptus leaves,
rustic gold metal snowflakes tied with jute,
plain matte deep emerald green ornaments tied with ribbon,
miniature bronze and golden faux pine cone ornaments,
and mocha brown matte and shiny teardrop ornaments
combined with faux bare branches, twig orbs and real pine cones.

Topped off with a pure white dove,
a symbol of peace that is so~o~o desperately needed in our world!

Greeting you at the base of the stairs
is our treasured 'Nicky Bear' with a bark basket
filled with ice crystals and snow laden branches.

Let's take a peek inside the red chicken wire cabinet!

I've flung open wide the cabinet doors
so you could get a better look inside!

Featured throughout the red chicken wire cabinet
is "Mr. Ed's" Rainbow Trout dinnerware
and his unique collection of Korean cookware.

Starting at the top. . .

I added Winter Woodland Christmas decorations to enhance
our Family Room decor.

I have a few pieces of red ware NOEL plates,
a treasured Woodland Santa Music Box and a Fishing Santa Music Box
combined with a wooden bowl filled with bronze and gold glitter ornaments!

Starting our conversational area
is my little red desk situated between a vintage chair
and an heirloom upholstered swivel rocker.

I've place an antique blanket basket beneath the desk
to disguise the electrical cords from the authentic antler lamp
and the Santa and reindeer lamp atop the red desk.

Continuing around the long, narrow lower level Family Room,
I've placed the sofa on a diagonal to separate the conversational area
from the dining area within the vast space.
(For photos of our lower level dining room, see A Carpenter's Box. . .here.)

Completing the conversational area
are our individual chairs on either side of our over sized chess / checkers game.

Since we have no mantle,
I hung our stockings on the quilt ladder, instead.

(Not my best decor, but serves its purpose.)

We've come full circle for
Christmas On Crooked Creektt
in the lower level Family Room
with a Winter Woodland theme!

Once the presents are opened,
and the wrappings are put away. . .
savor the best gift of Christmas. . .
the presence of the love shared around your very own Family Room!!!

Until next time. . .

On Crooked Creektt will be joining

Your room looks wonderful. I enjoy all the details especially in the red cabinet. The theme and colors of the tree are very pretty. Love the sleigh with the gifts!

I like your room and the colors you are focusing on. It looks so cozy. What a great place to sit and play a game of chess or checkers. And I like what you did with your fireplace. Merry Christmas, friend!
