does not involve basketball,
but rather creating and designing enough inventory
for our Bits 'n Pieces Spring Booth.
So~o~o. . .
as I wearily climbed the stairs recently and entered the Dining Room,
I was met by a very s a d tablescape.
While dinner was in the oven,
I visited several of my favorite blogs for inspiration in my own home decor.
Once dinner was over,
I began creating my March Madness tablescape! ! !
For me,
creating an inviting tablescape always begins with the linens.
Most of the tablecloths On Crooked Creektt are round and white.
Because the assortment is mostly white
it narrows the "playing field" considerably.
Nothing states the approaching of Spring quite like white eyelet, to me!
Combine white eyelet with green. . .and cabbages. . .
and my March Madness shouts, "Bring it on"! ! !
Atop the white eyelet tablecloth,
I placed my green cabbage leaf place mats.
Next,
came my newly purchased dinnerware.
I haven't purchased additional place settings,
but "Mr. Ed" and I do enjoy how well this dinnerware
compliments our other collections On Crooked Creektt.
Although you can barely see the Majolica Bordallo Pinheiro salad plate,
I adore how it mimics the ruffle of the cabbage leaf place mat!
Returning from a New Year's Day Wedding,
"Mr. Ed" and I stopped for a visit to Front Porch Antiques
and I happened upon four Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage bowls.
Because "Mr. Ed" and I are at the "top of the key"
towards our goal for our Bits 'n Pieces Spring Booth Inventory,
I wanted to continue an easy clean~up with this tablescape.
Therefore,
I'm using my everyday flatware and stemware. . .all dishwasher safe!
Wanting to add an "air of elegance",
I added my vintage salt and pepper shakers to the table.
There's no "time~out"
in My March Madness for this tablescape.
Once the place settings were complete,
I lined the center of the table with three cabbage leaf place mats.
I kept the centerpiece simply stated
by placing faux boxwood in a creamy ivory urn.
Snowball florals and sprigs of tree branches with lime green blossoms
add contrast and interest to the floral arrangement.
Majolica serving platters were added to opposite sides
to extend the centerpiece across the round Dining Room table.
While it may appear the "Mr. Ed" and I are entering into "overtime",
we truly are nearing the "final countdown" On Crooked Creektt.
Which, by the way,
could possibly leave a "wee bit" of time for a few shenanigans!
Until next time. . .

Pat, I love, LOVE this tablescape! I do love green and white, as you know, and you have done it beautifully!!!! Thanks so much for the shout out, you are so sweet. I ADORE the cabbage plates. I don't have any of my own, and whenever I see them I look longingly at them. Your centerpiece turned out beautifully as well. Mr. Ed should be quite happy to sit at this table with you......after the shenanigans???????LOL!!!!:):):)
Happy Sunday, Pat! Your tablescape is beautiful! I love your pretty tablecloth, your new dishes and those cabbage leafed placemats! I have those cabbage bowls too. Aren't they sweet. Beautiful new silverware too. Of course I'm loving your sweet salt and pepper shakers too. What a lovely table and isn't it something to have all of these bloggers to learn from?
Be a sweetie,
Shelia;)
You know I ♥ this table with all the green! Beautiful eyelet tablecloth.
I am on the lookout for more green or pink cabbage leaf bowls...can't even find them on eBay for a reasonable price!
Gorgeous weather today, wasn't it? It could stay like this year 'round and I wouldn't complain at all!
The table is beautiful, Pat. Thanks so much for the mention.
I love that salad plate!
Pat -- it's a perfect table -- not only for March madness but for St. Patrick's Day as well! It's a pretty table and I favor white tablecloths as well --you can create color with placemats, squares of fabric, even throws or quilts! Don't wear yourself out dear friend -- you want to have fun too?!
Pat- as soon as I saw this I thought of St Patricks Day!
I love those the Bordallo Pinheiro dishes- they're all so interesting with their colors and textures. I like how you wove the green placemats through the center and the white eyelet tablecloth. You and Mr. Ed are hard workers. You're going to collapse when you get done with all the projects!
Pat, this is so pretty. I love your cabbage dishes and your centerpiece is so beautiful. Very well done. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

Such a lovely table, love how you used the leaf place mats in the center and the cabbage dishes are so cute!
Pat, your table is absolutely lovely. I, too, like using my cabbage leaf dishes because they have wonderful texture and compliment many other dishes. I've been looking for plates like your Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage leaf plates with the brown border. If you know of a source, I'm all ears. '-)
Happy St. Pat's Day!
Your setting is very pretty, yet with a relaxed feel! My kind of table, Happy St. Pat's:@)
Beautiful table. Love your cabbage dishes.
Morning, Pat! I'm just back to say - I'm still on Blogger I've just bought my domain name and it has changed from .blogspot to .com. So I should still come up, I think. I don't know much about it. I do know you can pay to blog like on Wordpress or Typepad and that is different. But I don't think just buying your domain changes anything,I just wanted you to know to change my address. Does that make sense?
Continue being sweet,
Shelia;)
Your dishes are beautiful! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Just lovely, Pat! That tablecloth is gorgeous and your centerpiece is a real eye-catcher. I am crazy about Bordallo cabbage tableware and yours looks great on that white tablecloth. Enjoyed this post!

Such a pretty table! I am drooling over your eyelet tablecloth! Where did you find it? I do not have cabbage plates, but every time I see them in a tablescape I ask myself why I don't! Will definitely be my next purchase. Everything looks so good and just perfect for St. Patrick's Day! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch
