One of the strongest inspirations,
when re~designing my creative space known as Studio One,
came from a card of crafter's cord.
This crafter's cord, True Hemp, a natural product of the earth
stirred my inner being with tranquility
unlike any other I had ever experienced.
I stopped by my local Roadhouse Antiques Shop
to inquire about purchasing some vintage wooden spools.
A few days later,
I received a phone call confirming that the owner,
(and friend) indeed, had some for me to consider.
With every turn of the spool,
I was mesmerized at the aging and weathering
these wooden spools had endured through the years.
One~by~one,
I wound each and every hue from the crafter's cord card
until I had filled every wooden spool with subtle hues for Studio One.
Silver, gray, black and white.
A perfect blending of neutral shades
to compliment all the experimenting of hues within my creative space.
The textural imperfections add to their charm.
I gathered them together
and placed them inside a vintage natural ratan sewing basket
lined with a pristine linen cloth edged with tatting.
The addition of my beloved Grandmother's thimble and needles
from her sewing basket keep her close in thought.
Common, everyday items,
a natural product of the earth,
wound from a crafter's cord card onto vintage wooden spools,
truly, inspirational!
Until next time. . .
On Crooked Creektt will be joining
It is my wish that you, too,
will experience the serene and tranquil inspirations
that only the hue of gray can bring into your life.
