. . .and while caring for silver can be seen as a chore by many,
for me polishing silver is one of my favorite things!
Often times,
while out Antique Shop or Flea Market perusing with "Mr. Ed",
I've come across silver cast~offs that I just had to rescue.
The silver tray beneath my heirloom silver coffee service
is one of those cast~offs that I picked up for a "song" on one such excursion.
I adore the fact that it is a much larger tray than the one that was "gifted" me.
The luxurious detailing beginning with the ample sized handles,
curvaceous scalloped edging, right down to the four petite feet
made this silver tray an indulgent purchase, indeed.
But, the fact that it was in less than pristine condition
deterred many a buyer and a more substantial price, I'm sure.

None the less,
it holds my heirloom silver coffee service
as it shines in all its intended glory throughout the Seasons On Crooked Creektt.
Through the years On Crooked Creektt,
I've also found some bargain priced silver pieces
at local shops and even garage $ales!
and a variety of mismatched silver flatware and serving pieces,
I bought for the sole purpose of re~creating an elegant monochromatic
I was absolutely giddy
when I scored two different sets of matching silver trays
occasionally used as chargers or as trayscape centerpieces!
While the patina of tarnished silver appeals to many,
I prefer to observe the allure of chrysalis taking place within each intricate detail
that only freshly polished silver can make.
On Crooked Creektt,
silver polishing. . .it's one of My Favorite Things!

Beautiful table setting. Your silver in the frames is wonderful, your post makes me want to be a better silver-polisher!
Its funny how I didn't enjoy silver for a time but now I love it and enjoy polishing it when I can do it leisurely. Such beauty to behold as the shine comes to life. Yours is all lovely and what a find with that tray. I do love your framed silver! Very pretty.
Nothing prettier than polished silver! Love it against your beautiful linen.
Oh Pat, this is gorgeous! I love silver and have way too many pieces. It makes such an elegant base for any kind of tablescape or vignette!
Your silver looks so sparkling shiny! I prefer it polished, too.
I see a few pieces of flatware that I have pieces of...the teaspoon down toward the end of your post is Rogers/International Silver Yale pattern, I am pretty sure. I have a large serving spoon in that pattern...thrift store find, of course.
Have you been getting lots of rain on your side of the prairie? Mother Nature needs to learn to spread it out over the next few months instead of all at one time!
Pat your tea services if so beautiful. I love sipping tea. Jo
Pat, your silver service is absolutely beautiful all shined up! I love silver, but not so much the work to clean it up, probably because I wait for that special occasion like Christmas, when the list of to-dos is already mountain high. I like the look of the tarnished too, but I have to hand you props in how you make it look so much more attractive in its brightest state. The tray is stunning, something I am drawn to not only for the beauty, but its versatility and function.
Here's hoping your weekend is relaxing and enjoyable.

so pretty, Pat, you have some gorgeous pieces, and they make a beautiful tablesetting. Which reminds me, all my pieces are so tarnished. I need to get busy.
