"Mr. Ed" just finished all the painting in the Dining Room!
An amazing renewal is taking place in this space, as well.
Long before the Dining Room was painted,
"Mr. Ed" and I shopped for a new rug to place beneath our table.
We decided on a tan fretwork area rug,
measuring 7 ft. X 10 ft. from our local Target store.
Larger in pattern and size, and lighter in hue,
this area rug fills our small Dining Room quite nicely.
For the renewal in On Crooked Creektt's upper level living areas,
"Mr. Ed " and I chose Sherwin~Williams Sandbar. I adore its subtle hue!
I am extremely pleased with the way this hue shifts
from soft taupe~to subtle gray~to pale sea blue depending on the light!
The most difficult part of this renewal,
other than the emptying of the china buffet and hutch
and moving that huge piece of furniture,
was waiting to put out my Spring decor!
Since the wall pockets had been styled prior to painting,
all that was left to do was adding light touches of Spring to the buffet and hutch.
Before I began returning the contents of the hutch,
I styled the top and open shelf for Springs arrival to the Prairie.
Meandering wisps of forsythia branches trail around my Anduze Pots.
A soft ecru linen runner, slightly scrunched,
continues the renewal theme
within On Crooked Creektt's Dining Room.
I'm featuring a hand painted vintage china plate from Japan
to harmonious blend the surrounding hues within this vignette.
A freshly polished vintage silver Tea Service
helps reflect the light streaming through the patio door.

That fabulous rug makes all the difference! I love the light spring touches you have added to the hutch. All your hard work has paid off just beautifully!
love all the changes, especially that paint color.
Pat,
The new rug makes the space seem so much brighter. Somehow I was not a follower of your new blog, so I have corrected that.
Enjoy all the Spring in your gardens.
Judith
Your dining room looks so nice, Pat. Love the new rug.
Enjoy the beautiful weekend that is predicted!
Hi Pat! I adore your new rug and it looks lovely in your redone dining room! We need a rug to go under our dining room table but one step at a time. I love those pots on top of your Hoosier. I love how you've styled your cabinet too. The dishes are beautiful! You're redoing so much of your lovely home you're liable to wake up and think - where am I? :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Pat, your hutch looks beautiful! And I am crazy for that rug. I have been dying to get something like that for my home but I have a little fur baby that likes to ruin them so sadly a new one is not in my near future.Great choice!
Thanks for sharing,
Karen
Pat, I love how pretty the table looks set, and the china is so pretty. It really looks lovely, and you both did a great job.
