2015's Project #4. . .

On Crooked Creektt's  2015 Project #4 is completed!

"Mr. Ed" just finished all the painting in the Dining Room!

An amazing renewal is taking place in this space, as well.

Long before the Dining Room was painted,
"Mr. Ed" and I shopped for a new rug to place beneath our table.

We decided on a tan fretwork area rug,
measuring 7 ft. X 10 ft. from our local Target store.

Larger in pattern and size, and lighter in hue,
this area rug fills our small Dining Room quite nicely.

For the renewal in On Crooked Creektt's upper level living areas,
"Mr. Ed " and I chose Sherwin~Williams Sandbar. I adore its subtle hue!

I am extremely pleased with the way this hue shifts
from soft taupe~to subtle gray~to pale sea blue depending on the light!

The most difficult part of this renewal,
other than the emptying of the china buffet and hutch
and  moving that huge piece of furniture,
was waiting to put out my Spring decor!

Since the wall pockets had been styled prior to painting,
all that was left to do was adding light touches of Spring to the buffet and hutch.

Before I began returning the contents of the hutch,
I styled the top and open shelf for Springs arrival to the Prairie.

Meandering wisps of forsythia branches trail around my Anduze Pots.

A soft ecru linen runner, slightly scrunched,
continues the renewal theme
within On Crooked Creektt's Dining Room.

I'm featuring a hand painted vintage china plate from Japan
to harmonious blend the surrounding hues within this vignette.

A freshly polished vintage silver Tea Service
helps reflect the light streaming through the patio door.

My Favorite Things. . .Vol. III

. . .melt into Spring!

Silver white winters that melt into springs. . .
these are a few of My Favorite Things!

Ah~h~h. . .
at last the wait is over and Spring has arrived On Crooked Creektt!

To honor its long awaited arrival,
I've set our Dining Room table with a monochromatic color scheme
with creamy ivory, a hint of green, silversoft buttery yellow and white.

Atop my soft buttery yellow Ralph Lauren tablecloth,
I've placed a creamy ivory sheer organza topper
outlined in tulips of the same hue.

Using a blend of creamy ivory vintage and everyday white porcelain china
keeps a consistent, eye appealing tablescape
for our Traditional Timeless Classic design.

Holding handmade tulip place cards are
silver place card holders from Two's Company
Ironstone butter pats rest atop each place setting.

I've combined Parisian bee glasses with our everyday clear bubble glass.
Newly purchased glass coasters feature various intricate silver designs.

I adore the soft linen napkins, with crocheted lace edges, from Pier 1!
Folded and tied simply with natural jute, they complement the textures
from both the tulip topper and the jute ribbons on the bunnies.

The simplistic centerpiece displays both sophistication and whimsy.

Creamy ivory wrought iron rabbits,
combined with a creamy ivory vintage vase
filled with faux soft buttery yellow florals and tulips
and silvery zinc pots toppling over with Spanish moss and soft robin's eggs,
gently whisper Springs arrival On Crooked Creektt.

With 2015's Renewal On Crooked Creektt,
I'm embracing the soft buttery yellows of my 1970's Galley Style Kitchen
by blending harmoniously these two rooms
with the first Spring tablescape of the year.

Silver white winters that melt into springs. . .
these are a few of My Favorite Things!

In 2015,
my hope for each of you is that you
*embrace change
*find joy
*pursue your passions.

Until next time. . .

Welcoming Spring. . .

It's officially time to be Welcoming Spring. . .
On Crooked Creektt Spring begins at the front door!

"Mr. Ed" smiling as he greets our guests!

As he should,
you see, dear ones, he was a h u g e help in making our Spring wreath.

Both, "Mr. Ed" and I had seen a unique square wreath on facebook.
Once, I determined how the wreath was made,
we set out to try one of our own creations!

* * * * * * * Tutorial * * * * * * *

First,
we made the purchase of our initial "C" at Hobby Lobby.

Next,
we purchased two stems. The first of soft buttery yellow florals;
the second off~white with hints of green delicate flowers.

We also, purchased one bag of Spanish Moss.

Using an 8" X 10" wooden frame,
"Mr. Ed" hot glued the Spanish Moss to the front and sides of the frame.

Then,
he painted the "C" in our soft Sherwin ~ Williams Paper White.

Once the Spanish Moss had 'set'
and the initial "C" had dried, I began the designing and gluing of the florals.

I made a single tan burlap bow
and attached it to the upper left hand corner of the frame.

The larger soft buttery yellow flowers
are some that were in my bin of Spring florals.
I attached them at several of the corners.

The initial "C"is tied on to the frame using a thin green ribbon.

I adore how it brightens On Crooked Creektt's front door!

The unique square shape is a 'perfect' fit
for the unique square 'peek' window opening.

I've been "photo bombed"!

On Crooked Creektt,
both "Mr. Ed" and I are Welcoming Spring!
