The "Real" Deal. . .

All of my life,
I have struggled with allergies.

That's the main reason On Crooked Creektt,
you'll find faux flora throughout my decorating designing.

However,
the maidenhair grasses, if dried, are one thing I seem to tolerate well.

I sent "Mr. Ed" to The Neighborhood Market (Wal ~ Mart) for some coffee.

When the phone rang,
I was sure it was he informing me they were out of our favorite bean coffee.

Instead,
a very excited "Mr. Ed"
was telling me he had found three small pumpkins for $3.00!

Doing some research,
I found that these pumpkins are called  Pump~Ke~Mons!

A mini-pumpkin featuring orange and green stripes
on a white background creating a unique appearance
throughout the exterior of the lil' pumpkin.

Lil’ Pump~Ke~Mon has a distinctive flattened shape
with slight to medium ribbing emphasized by the orange and green stripes.

The 1~2 lb. fruit adds color and interest to traditional Autumnal decor.

I adore how the three Pump ~Ke~Mons enhance the tiny harvested pumpkin
from On Crooked Creektt's Gardens planted by Master Gardener, "Mr. Ed"!

So~o~o. . .
instead of 'faux' pumpkins in On Crooked Creektt's Dining Room,
I now have "real" pumpkins adorning the built~in china cabinet.

"Mr. Ed" found the "real" deal
at an affordable price from our Neighborhood Market!

Until next time. . .

On Crooked Creektt will be joining

Mr. Ed has a good eye and must be a good shopper. They look great--he could have grown them all!

A lucky woman has a man who brings her a pumpkin in Fall. He brought you three so just think of how lucky you are! He picked some cuties too. Wondering what the straw like stuff is?

How sweet of him to be so excited to get these for you! I love these little pumpkins and have had them in the past. Haven't seen any this year though. Have a beautiful weekend, Pat.

I, too, have a few of these delightful pumpkins...I have a little wire basket with a few of them inside. Your prairie home looks pretty dressed for fall.

How sweet! Those are adorable! They look great in your vignette with the maidenhair grass. I noticed when I bring in my dried hydrangeas that they seem to bother my sinuses so I've been avoiding keeping them inside. Boo hoo! Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Pat, and Happy Saturday! I love your pumpkins, and honestly, have never seen so many varieties and names for them as I have in recent years! I bought a couple of those type myself, but I must say, your little vignette would be all I'd need for a perfect autumn display - that countertop looks great. Mr. Ed did a fine job assisting you, both in the garden and the market!

I wish I could find those at my local stores, they are just now getting those pretty bluish ones and they sold like hot cakes! Those are just adorable Pat!
