Cool Touches. . .

As the temperatures outside On Crooked Creektt
begin to climb into the middle 90's,
I've been adding cool touches to the decor inside.

The built~in china cabinet is one of my favorite places
within our 1970's Ranch Style Home to decorate.

I change it frequently with my vintage dish collections.

Since we're still, officially, in the Season of Spring;
I chose my all white, cool touches, vintage dishes to display.

Before we take a look inside On Crooked Creektt's
built~in china cabinet, let's take a peek at the open shelf below.

I began with my two~tier wrought iron plate stand
featuring my vintage creamy ivory swirl dinner plates, tea cups and saucers.

I wrapped a faux grapevine garland around the handle
and beneath the two~tier plate stand to fill in the area with a touch of color.

Much like the Sheffield Bone White USAthis set has a silver edging.

After polishing the silver Tea Set,
I tucked in an arrangement of white daises
within the silver Ketchup condiment holder.

This linen tea towel with Knife . Fork . Spoon is one of my favorite!
I adore how it adds a layer of softness to this vignette.

The crystal votive cup holds freshly polished silver spoons.

Now that the glass cabinet doors have been opened wide,
you may see that through the past three years,
I've diligently edited my vintage dish collections.

The top row features my three Sheffield Bone White USA dinner plates.
I have one Sheffield Bone White USA serving bowl on the left
and a Snowhite Regency P 1 Johnson Bros
Made In England Ironstone on the right.

The delicate creamer and lidded sugar bowl
are from Germany Hand Painted Bavarian China.

The middle shelf features an unmarked petite Tea Pot,
creamer and matching lidded sugar bowl with a cream pitcher.
Although they are not marked, they are similar in appearance
to my Sheffield Bone White USA.

A delicate heirloom plate Ivory Franklinware 57 x 8264
Warranted 22 K Gold Made In U.S.A. adds an ever so slight deviation
from dinnerware to pottery.

The smaller ivory vase states Made In Japan.

The taller curved handled pottery has USA and resembles McCoy Pottery.

The petite ornate tureen has no markings of origin.

The bottom shelf features some unmarked ironstone dinnerware
I purchased during vacation to Springfield, Missouri a few years ago.

I was told the dinner plates were used in a restaurant called Riverside Cafe.

The matching unmarked serving bowls
were purchased at our local Antique Mall and Flea Market.

I adore my vintage Homer Laughlin
Made IN USA E 50 N 8  lidded sugar bowl. . .

and it's companion Homer Laughlin Made IN USA R 33 N 7 creamer!

Each was purchased in separate States!

A pair of heirloom soft ivory, silver rimmed, petite floral plates
Johnson Bros. England bring a delicate touch of Spring hues to the cabinet.

Cool Touches are gracing On Crooked Creektt's built~in china cabinet
as "Mr. Ed" and I transition from Spring into Summer.

Until next time. . .

* * * FYI * * *
Dear Ones,
With a grateful heart,
I wish to thank each of you whom prayed for my "frozen" shoulder.
At my recent appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon,
I was told that I have regained 85% range of motion!
Miraculous news!
While most patients, of my age, don't see those kind of results
the O.S. believes I will still be able to gain back another 10%
by continuing my Physical Therapy and home exercises!
(Of course, "Mr. Ed" has done a marvelous task of stretching my shoulder!)
I'm asking that you keep those "little prayer wheels a turning"
just a while longer, please!
"Together we are better"!
Fondly,
Pat

You have a wonderful collection of white dishes and pottery...I'm a little jealous. You are so right too that it cools the feeling. The built in is the perfect spot to play house with. :)

I'm so glad your shoulder is healing. Keep up that physical therapy!

Every thing looks really nice, Pat...
we've been working outside so much, I've not given the inside much thought...I keep my whites and aquas out year 'round so I don't really have much to change...I leave my throws out, too, as they feel good with the AC going. Glad to know your shoulder is better.xoxo

Oh sweet friend, I love how you added the grapevine to your two tier stand! I will copy this idea for mine next time, lol..
Your built in cabinet is adorable and yes, perfect for rearranging it often, it's warm and practical and you do a great job every time!
I'm happy your shoulder is almost mended, as it can be very uncomfortable and botherson, for sure!
Big hugs,

Hi, Pat, I'm visiting from the Grace at Home party. This is my first visit to Crooked Creektt. What a beautiful site you have.

Your built-in china cabinet is awesome. That is one thing I miss about a house we used to live in. I sold my freestanding china cabinet when we moved in to a house that had a built-in one. We have since left that house, and I now don't have a china cabinet at all : (

You've decorated beautifully. I especially like the way you entwined the ivy around the plate stand. Love that pop of green!

Anyhow, it's nice to meet you, and if you get a chance, come visit me at Embracing Home. It's a fairly new blog, as I am just returning to blogging after a 2-year hiatus.

Blessings on your day,
Patti

Pat, White is so versatile. You can add color with table cloths and napkins. The built in looks like it works well. The vignette on the counter is elegant. Sylvia D.
